Trying out the blogging world!!
Hi there!
I'm not sure if I logged on to the blog correctly, so I'll give it a try. I hope you guys are all doing OK. We're enjoying some clean, cool air, which is a huge, welcome relief after all of the smoky air we've been breathing down here.
We loved our visit from Amy and Sam over the weekend. No matter how hard we tried, we could NOT convince Elizabeth that Isaac's name wasn't Lucas. She is also sure that Lucas' name is Isaac. We got a lot of laughs out of that!
Thanks for all of your phone calls, thoughts and prayers you've sent our way over the last couple of weeks. It's been an amazing time. I'm so grateful to be a part of the service here to help the victims of the fires. It seems like every time I look at my email, there's another opportunity to serve. The church is so awesome!
Love you guys!

One more
Tammy,
I am so excited to see you on the blog. What is Emily selling? We'll look forward to hearing from her. You should post some pictures from Halloween of your kids on the blog. We would love to see them.
It was pretty nice here too, on Halloween. I'm looking forward to the Holidays because that means Lorin is nearing the end of his school. Hooray!
Lorin and I haven't got a whole lot of new stuff to report on. I am still working on promoting my tie dye. I have a little bit of business trickling in. I am doing a little table at my friend's house for gallery stroll. Her husband is an artist and they open their house to show his art for gallery stroll. That is Nov 19 from 6-9 pm, though not many of you live here. I am also thinking about getting some other artisans together to do a Christmas boutique. I have to find a place where we could set up booths and sale goods.
Lorin moved to the new hospital. There are some things that need to be worked out, he says, but hopes that it will be ok.
Happy Sunday to you all.
I hope you are enjoying your fast. Keep mom and dad in your prayers.
I love you,
Liz

Hi
Hi family,
I am still trying to figure this whole thing out. I think we have finally got it, though.
We had a fun time last night for Halloween. Greg and Kelly came over and Kelly and I took the
kids trick-or-treating. It was a great night. Usually, we freeze every Halloween, but this year it was beautiful.
I couldn't even get Sean to wear a coat. Of course, the kids came home loaded with candy. I mean LOADED.
Michelle and I are trying to do better at not eating the junk food, so this will be a test for us.
While I all have your attention, Emily is trying to do fundraising for swimming this year. You might be getting a call from her over the next week or so.
I am excited to see if I posted this right so I am going to log off and check it out.
I love you,
Tammy

Tie Dye
Pretty like Fall
Since the Hiatt's are the only posters other than myself, then hello there Hiatts. How are you? This is a pretty picture of Lorin in the fall leaves. Isn't it pretty?
It has been raining for two days now though, and it's cold so I think the pretty colors are nearly gone.
I hope Lizzy and Socie are ready to party it up in a week and a half.

Boy,
There are sure a lot of fun things happening around here. Daddy put lots of cow poo on the grass last Saturday. It sure is stinky. As mommy was driving the car today, I waved and said "Bye bye cow poo. See ya later. Mommy let me wear my Hi dye shirt today with my pink pants, my favorite color. I get to be a cow girl for Halloween, so my mommy got me a cowgirl Dora movie from the library to try and get me to wear my cowboy hat and boots. I'm getting lots of gumballs and treats these days. I work hard for them. I go potty on the big potty a lot now. I like to get Starbursts too. Mommy goes on the potty too like a big girl, and I always like to tell her, "mommy, I'm so proud of you. Good job mommy. " I want her to know that she's doing good. I also tell mommy that "Mommy is hot". That's what daddy says, so I guess we need to turn on the air conditioning. Well, I'll let you know what happens later, but mommy said I have to go take a nap. Ha ha ha. We'll see about that.

Here at work

Greetings all. It is Wednesday and I am here at work. Obviously not a busy day. Actually it is for all of the techs, but I am slow for a bit. So we took a picture of me at my workspace so all of you can want to come work for my company. Yup, come be a member of the U.S. Nerd Force. (Being a computer nerd, I can laugh at us) Anyway hope all of you are having a great day!

Congratulations Amy!
Hi this is Sam. I am here at work on a beautiful Monday morning in Las Vegas. I wanted to congratulate Amy on her new job she started this last week. It is only one hour per week but is a great break from the kids. Plus Amy is doing something that she loves. This is a picture of her first day. Please feel free to call her and congratulate her as she starts up her career again! :)

And Then There Were 3
I am SO impressed! Now there are three of us on here. I hope Sarah got to go to J Dawgs cuz she was hankering for them on Sunday.
Rebecca, have you checked availability for Oct 27th for a Halloween party? Amy is going to move something from that day so she can come if you can do it. It sounds like the rest of us could.
I have an hour left of work today and I'm having a hard time focusing so I took a break to blog.
Let us know if that will work for you.
Welcome to the BBB. (Burgoyne, Beeswax, Blog)

It's a Miracle!
Just thought I'd give all of you (or maybe I should say both of you Amy and Liz) a heart attack by posting on the blog. I don't know how to post pictures but I thought I'd just say hi!
Our family is busy as usual. Sarah attended the homecoming dance Saturday night and we finally found her a dress on Friday thanks to my friend Judi who spotted it and called us to tell her about it. Annie got her braces off today after 3 1/2 years of oral torture. She was more than excited but says her teeth feel "slimy." Matthew plays his first flag football game today. He's only had one practice and his coach can't be there so I'm not real optimistic for a win, but I hope he has fun. I'm taking the Laurels to the Lone Peak Girls Soccer game this afternoon which should be fun and it's an activity I don't have to do too much to prepare for. The boys got their hair cut yesterday at Great Clips in preparation for school pictures on Friday. For family night last night we drove to Provo and had dinner at the hot dog stand "J Dawgs" that Todd has been talking about for months now. I have to say it was pretty good. Afterwards, we ran around campus and went into the basement of the biology building to see all the fish tanks. This week I'm looking forward to lots more soccer, parent teacher conference, and having a crown "installed." Todd is working at the Salt Palace again this week, preparing for the big Mitt Romney rally on Friday. Anyway, that's the excitement at the Mortensen household.
Love,
Rebecca

We had a great time in Utah. It was fun to see all of the sisters and be together again. Every time we go on a trip, Sophie achieves another milestone. She's now pulling herself up on the furniture. She gets so excited. We also found out that Elizabeth has the same allergy to walnuts and pecans that her dad does. She got a sore on her tongue the day after eating them, and lets me know every five seconds or so that it hurts (we're going on day 4 right now). I don't think I'll give her walnuts or pecans again anytime soon. She also got her first pet, a fish. When we asked her what she wanted to name it, she said Blue Fish. Blue Fish likes his new home. Well, I hope to hear from you soon. I love you all.

Amy and Liz's Blog
Wow,
Amy and I sure are enjoying this blog. Don't our sisters wish they knew all of the updates in our lives?
Lorin and I saw Spam a Lot last night. It was really good. Crass in a couple of parts, but very entertaining. The crowd was really into it, certain characters they recognized would come out on stage and the crowd would erupt in cheers. That was half the fun.
Jenny and John were there (wilson) We sat on the same row even, they were just a little way down the row from us. We chatted for a minute.
I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend.
I love you All

2nd Annual Halloween Party

That reminds me Amy, we need to decide on a date for the Second Annual Halloween Party. I have already looked at some ghoulish recipes...ooooooo.
It would be so fun if everyone could attend. I know mom and dad will not be around so we'll have to work harder to get together. Here is an occasion where we can do that.
Look at your calendars for a saturday that will work. I'll look at mine and we'll get a date on the calendar.
I love you all, hopefully we'll all be posting on the beeswax soon.

Water spouts
We had a good labor day weekend, although we always miss the family. We had Sam's brother and his family here, and we went down to the water spouts at the park. Elizabeth loves the water spouts. It's the only way to cool off here, although we had 3 inches of rain in one night here, and thunder so loud that the house shook. We are excited about coming for mom and dad's sacrament mission talk and can hardly wait for Elizabeth's annual Halloween party. I am already trying to decide what I will be for Halloween. My kids have their costumes. Sophie is going to be a Grinch, and Elizabeth has a really cute cowgirl costume. Sam cheered me on as I raced his brother on a bike around the Red Rock loop this weekend and won again. I'm still undefeated. Thanks, Elizabeth, for posting on the Burgoyne Beeswax blog. I loved the picture of Emma. She looked very happy. I hope that everyone is doing well. That's all for now.

A rookie
Amy and Sam,
Thank you for setting this up. I am a rookie at this. Somewhere out there, I have a blog titled 'The Pumpkin Queen' but I don't remember where, or what my log in is so this is really the first time blogging.
Lorin and I are working furiously on our basement. One room has sheet rock and mud soon it will be freshly painted. Working on it is in the plan for this weekend.
The other night, Lorin and I went outside to look at the stars. We were laying on the grass in our back yard and we saw the weirdest thing. We saw, on three different occasions, flocks of birds flying in formation but it was night. The moon was full, so you could see the whites of their belly's. They were so far away and tiny, they almost looked like showdows moving through the night. I've never seen anything like it. Either they were birds, or they were the ghosts of all of the birds who have gone on before them. So, on the next full moon, you should go lay on your backs and see if you can spot some unusual, ghost like birds, drifting across the sky.
Well, I do have all kinds of other exciting things to tell, but I guess they will wait until next time. I don't want to overload the beeswax blog on it's first run.
I look forward to all of your wonderful stories.

Burgoyne Beeswax

Burgoyne family,
Welcome to the Burgoyne Beeswax Blog. Please submit any stories or pictures you would like.
Oregon
I just took my girls on a trip to Oregon to see Tammy and her family. The trip through the airport was pretty eventful, as Elizabeth had to give up blanky going through security. The only thing that calmed her down was a pack of Starbursts on the other side. We had a great time at Tammy's. Elizabeth followed Emma and her Polly Pockets around everywhere she went. She jumped on the trampoline a lot with Sean, and she loved Tammy's blueberry bushes. We picked blueberries and put them in a bowl. Elizabeth picked blueberries and stuck them right in her mouth. We also got to pick blackberries and go to the beach. Sophie ate sand for the first time, and Elizabeth rode a four-wheeler with Tammy. Sophie also gave nose kisses to everyone, although Wade wasn't sure he really wanted to get his nose kissed by a little baby. We had fun.
